Project 5 Task 1

Blogs have become commonplace in our daily lives.  In the world of education, blogs become an online journal where students can share ideas with each other and the world at large.  Their work takes on new meaning when it has the power to influence those beyond the walls of their classroom.  Parents also have the ability to subscribe to their child's blog and follow along with their thoughts and ideas.

Blogs allow students of all ages to publish material on the internet quickly and without the aid of established websites or editors.  They give students a purpose for writing and encourage creativity as they enhance writing skills.  They also gain an understanding of respectful discourse and communicating with a variety of people and cultures.

For teachers, blogs allow another avenue for communicating with parents and colleagues. It's also an easy way to highlight student word.
